The virtual alley of Ten Pin Championship Bowling brings you mellow, realistic play and some unexpected atmospheric touches. You can wear your own shoes, but otherwise it's close to the real thing. Choose your ball and roll it down the lane to bring down the pins. We found the speed of the ball to be strangely slow; no matter how we moved the mouse, the ball merely ambled toward its target. Fortunately, that doesn't seem to prevent you from achieving the clean strike. Single-player or multiplayer games are supported, and Muzak plays in the background. You'll even hear some announcements about lost items or children from time to time. All in all, Ten Pin Championship Bowling is a fun way to spend some time for those who find the pace and play of real-life sports more satisfying than space-mutant, search-and-destroy missions.
