Here on earth it feels like everything.. good is missing, since you left
and here on earth everything is different, there is an emptiness
We are excited to launch Talia's Legacy's official Store! Talia's Legacy was built in honor of Talia Joy Castellano who's one wish was to "find a cure to childhood cancer" and we vow to do everything we can to make that wish come true. Proceeds from each purchase will go toward research and clinical trials, hopefully finding that cure so children like Talia will no longer die from cancer. Each product in "Talia's Store" is designed by those closest to Talia, knowing what she would have wanted.
The store is also managed by friends and family of Talia, who are available to provide a real person for questions or concerns regarding each purchase. We hope you'll help us keep Talia's Legacy alive and make her one wish come true! ♥
Nail Art | Add YOUR mint mani! and Join in with GLAMWARS Nail Designs

Talia loved getting her nails done, especially when she would get rhinestones, glitter, or any nail art on them. Talia was a big fan of Robin Moses Nail Art on You Tube and Robin was also a fan of Talia's. This year, Robin sent these nails in memory of Talia. Robin will be uploading #minmani tutorials throughout July to honor Talia. We hope you enjoy these videos just as we know Talia would have. Love to all.
Talia had such a great sense of humor!!! She was always joking around, laughing and having a good time. She really enjoyed life and didn't take it for granted. It's not fair that she didn't get a chance to grow up and do the things she dreamed of doing. I wish Talia was here so she could go to her favorite yogurt place. #?tbt Lights, camera, action!!! Being on the Ellen Degeneres Show and meeting Ellen, was the BEST day of Talia's life!! This picture was taken just before Talia walked down the steps in excitement, to meet Ellen! The song "We Are Young" was playing and everyone was clapping and some were crying, including Talia!
Doing good and helping someone is the best gift that you can give to someone and to yourself. Today we will be bringing GLAM WARS to Nemours Children's Hospital to help the children feel beautiful and confident while they battle cancer.
Thank you The The Ellen DeGeneres Show and COVERGIRL for not only giving Talia a chance to fulfill her dreams but also to continue her Legacy to help empower and spread her confidence.
Waiting... and hoping... That's what Talia was doing for six and a half years. Waiting and hoping for something new.. Waiting for a new drug that could possibly save her life from the monster called Neuroblastoma.
Talia had high risk Neuroblastoma which has a low chance of survival.
But, on March 10, 2015 that changed!! With the help of St. Baldricks Foundation's funding, the FDA approved a drug called Unituxin. It is an immunotherapy treatment that combined with other drugs, can help their immune system fight off cancer.
We are honored to be participating in St. Baldrick's Brevard event March 14, 2015. We will be doing makeovers for the woman and young ladies that will be shaving their heads.
Thank you St.Baldricks Foundation for continuing to give these children HOPE!
On 12/12/12 Talia wrote a post to Santa Claus on her Facebook Page.
#TaliasLegacy - Here is what she wrote: "Dear Santa, most kids want a phone or the newest barbie... but all im asking for is me and my friends to heal for a terrible thing thats called cancer. I dont know if you have it in the north pole but if you don't, you are sure lucky. Its life threatening. Kids don't live a normal life... a day consist of waking up early for a doctors apt then getting blood takin', waiting for labs to comeback then ending up getting a transfusion. then feeling sick... going home... throwing up... more throwing up. then you do it all over the next day.as you see its not a healthy way of a child's living... maybe your elf's can make a potion to cure it? Just maybe Santa? If you did that for me... I would be on the nice list for the rest of my life. and the other boy and girls would be cancer free and believe in you everyday Please Santa…" ~ Talia Joy
We all wish that it would have come true for all the kids and adults fighting cancer. This year we would like to ask for your help. If you could write a post either on this thread, on our timeline or in a private message about what your life would be like if Santa cured cancer and how it would be different today if cancer never existed. Who would still be with you? What part of your life could you get back? Who do you know who would have someone they love back in their life? Simply, "Imagine a world without cancer"! We will be choosing a few posts to share during the holidays and thank you in advance for your posts! #WorldWithoutCancerSee Comments

"Okay so I have two cancers in my body at once. Well pre leukemia which is a start of leukemia in my bone marrow. There are not realy any treatments for it. It's very rare to have neuroblastoma and leukemia at the same time period. The doc wanted to do a bone marrow transplant but they said it would be the hardest thing I have done. Also we could do a vacseen. But all of these are very very low chances of me surviving. In the mean time while we wait to find the next step they r putting me on a low dose of oral chemo to make sure my cancer doeznt grow. The docs gave me the option of doing treatment or dont do the treatment and just live life for the time remaining. Having cancer has been an amzing yet horrible journey but every journey has an end. Im tired of doing---- to my body, my friends, family, nabers, pets... I will enjoy every minute I have with the world. Docs said maybe a couple mounths to up to a year left of preshious life. I told both parents I dont want them to hold anything bak if u they something tell me. Doesnt mean I aint scard as ----! love u guys?" ♥

Heather Nicole Harless The saddest part for me, is that this was her normal. Death constantly taunting her and lingering over her was so normal, and she talked so casually about it. Her posts should have been about boys and school dances and normal posts every 13 yr old girl deserves to post. This is just heartbreaking. Poor baby.

Last year we had over 700 submissions that we know of. Here is the album from last year. We can't wait to see your mint mani for Talia and please remember to participate in our Mint Mani fundraiser to support our Glam Wars program that helps #ChildhoodCancer warriors feel beautiful again. Talia would have started High School today, but her and many other victims of Childhood Cancer will never get a chance to make it that far. They will never get to pick out their outfit for the first day, or try out for cheerleading. They will never get to experience Homecoming, Prom or what it's like to get to root for your home team at a pep rally. They will never get to experience the excitement and freedom of learning how to drive. They will be robbed of this experience and many others as Childhood Cancer research is severely underfunding. We are hoping to change that.
Please help us raise awareness during September, which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Our new “Think Talia - Think CURE” shirts are available for purchase until the morning of August 25th so that they will be shipped during the month of September, for you to wear in honor of Talia and all of the other Childhood Cancer Warriors who have fought or are still fighting. You may choose from different styles and a white or black shirt. Proceeds will go towards clinical trials and research for Childhood Cancer. Please help us raise awareness and help find a cure. Talia's Legacy's Mission is to "Find a Cure for Childhood Cancer, While Bringing JOY along the way." Thank you for you support!
#StepUp - Another 71 Years of Life for Talia - This Video May be Hard to Watch

Published on Jun 12, 2014 #TBT On August 18th 2010, Talia spent her birthday back in the hospital after her third relapse. She knew she would lose the hair that had finally grown back after a long remission, so she decided to go blond. While in the hospital Talia's dear friend, Tammy DeLaRosa, wrote this beautiful poem for sweet Angel Talia: See Comments
Sleeping Angel
Little angel sleeping
Little angel weeping
Little angel hoping on
something more defeating
Don’t fret the little angel
So soon the cure will come
And to all that has feared you
will soon be void and none
So sleep the little angel
and dream of life a song
For what you have to give us
will always keep you strong

Thank you!

Re: Faces of Childhood Cancer Project
We want our legislators to recognize that childhood cancer goes beyond statistics by showing them the faces of our children. Our children are more than just the cancer they experience. We have created the Faces of Childhood Cancer Project to share their story with legislators.
These pages will be shared with legislators at the advocacy meetings we will have in June.
Instructions:
• Please see attached sample with Alliance logo
• No political messages
• Share your child- what they love, photos, things about them
• Tell your child’s story visually- photos and drawings work best
• Children can/should create their own piece if possible
• Be sure to include city and state so we can get it to the right legislator
To participate:
1. If you are attending the Advocacy Days- Please bring 6 copies with you to the Advocacy training
2. If you cannot attend the Advocacy Days please send your 6 copies to:
Alliance for Childhood Cancer
c/o American Childhood Cancer Organization

3. You can upload via email to: leach@alliance4childhoodcancer.org
**All e-mailed/mailed sheets are due by June 15 in order to be shared on the Hill for Advocacy Days. If you are attending Advocacy Day, remember to please bring them with you***
Be a Voice for the Children
Published on Jan 21, 2014
Hello #TeamTalia. Today is the big day to help us #BeaVoice for #ChilhdoodCancer. Tonight at 8PM EST, don't forget to share the link below. As one loud, strong, united voice we are hoping that those who can help hear us!
Each one of us can make a difference by first raising awareness. When enough untied voices reach those that are in a position to make difference we get more funding for more research for better treatments and eventually a cure. Please help us keep #TaliasLegacy alive! Thank you! ♥ ♥ ♥
Thousands of U.S. children die every year but very little is being done about it. You can be a voice for these kids by watching this short video and signing the petition at the end.
On The Long Island Medium show with Talia's Mommy and Sissy
Update 12-1-13:
*Also, please know that we are open to all opinions on this page and never judge what is said as long as it is with a good heart. We know that the mention of mediums and psychics may make some people uncomfortable, but our intentions are not to sway or suggest that anyone feel or believe in a certain way. We share what Talia would have wanted shared on this page and we know she loved Theresa and watched her show all the time. Theresa also came to visit Talia while she was in the hospital and that day was the day that Talia passed. Theresa was so kind, genuine and warm to all of us that day and we are grateful for her visit and for having Talia's Mommy and Sissy on her show. ♥ ♥ ♥Watch The VideoComments
{Thanksgiving} Giving thanks to Talia's Legacy
Update 11-28-13:
Giving thanks to #TaliasLegacy - Today is Thanksgiving and around the country people are celebrating what they are thankful for with friends and family. Although this is the first Thanksgiving without you physically, we are still grateful for so much. We are grateful for the time we did get to spend with you, and for the extra time the doctors didn't feel you had. We are grateful for the amazing memories and long lasting friendships you cultivated and left to us to cherish. We are grateful for the impact you made on this world and for the people who's lives were forever changed and inspired by your "never-give-up" mentality.
We are forever grateful for just you… Your smiles, your talents, your silliness, your vision, your love, your beauty and your legacy… We hope you are with us today as we give thanks to our family and friends. You are loved and missed more each day sweet girl.
We want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. For those who have all their loved ones with them, be most thankful and hold them tight today. Tell them you love them and appreciate them always... And for those who have lost someone close, be grateful for those you have left to comfort you. ♥ ♥ ♥ — with Mon Victus. Comments
The Truth 365: A National Priority
Update 10-24-13:
**Please Share** Please help us and TheTruth365 make #ChildhoodCancer a priority. All you have to do is share this post. Watch to the end and learn how to make a difference. Will you actually do this? Will you share this post? Will you take the little over 8 minutes from your life to watch this video and help our kids, help the families losing their kids? Talia is in this video and is only one of the many voices that are begging for a change. Please, please help us! Thank you!
"During the recent government shutdown, childhood cancer research became a hot topic of discussion. Elected leaders from both political parties held press conferences to assert that children with cancer were a "national priority." The Truth 365 addresses this issue in a thought-provoking and informative way."
We've had a lot of people asking about how they could sign and share the petition to help raise awareness, funds, research, better treatments and eventually a cure for #childhoodcancer at the end of the video. Here is the direct link. All you have to do is click the link, enter your name and email and then pass it on... that's it! It's super easy and only takes a few seconds. Thanks Talia fans for making this such a huge success today. We can't tell you how much it means to us! ♥ ♥ ♥
Happy 14th Birthday sweet Angel. Wondering what birthdays are like in heaven. Do you have cakes, candles and presents. Do you get to invite any of your friends and pick out your music and decorations? Or, do birthdays even matter any more once you have transitioned from this Earth, as years and time are dependent upon rotations around the sun. It's hard not to wonder sweet girl.
Either way, we all want to wish you a very special birthday from down here to your new home in the heavens. Happy birthday to our little girl that grew into a spectacular young woman. Your physical presence is missed so much, especially on this very special day. Love you, yesterday, today and forever.

Talia knew other kids that were fighting childhood cancer also suffered with insecurities just like her. That is why on March 25, 2012, at the age of 12, Talia created the first Glam Wars.
Talia could have had a second wish but instead she gave her second wish to seven other kids that were fighting childhood cancer to have their first experience of the Glam Wars.
Talia was so grateful and she felt accomplished that she made seven young girls that were battling childhood cancer, feel amazing. Talia was always thinking of ways she could help other girls feel beautiful through makeup, as she did.
On February 14, 2014 Glam Wars Three began in Talia's room at Base Camp Children's Cancer Foundation, that was dedicated in her honor. The makeup artist were dressed as warriors to symbolize the war on cancer. The girls were taught how to apply the day look from Talia's COVERGIRL tutorial. Each girl received the exact COVERGIRL makeup that Talia used in her day and night tutorial. All the makeup that the little warriors received were graciously donated by COVERGIRL.
Everyone wore black in honor of Talia since she wanted to bring awareness to childhood cancer on Valentine's Day, the day she was diagnosed.
Talia's Legacy will continue to fulfill one of her wishes by continuing Glam Wars. Talia wanted to start Glam Wars all over the country under her foundation. Glam Wars will go on and the war to fight childhood cancer will continue until there is a cure.
On Valentine's Day, in 2007, when Talia was 7 years old, she was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma which is a rare childhood cancer. At that time, Talia was so insecure about herself because she didn't have any hair. She always wore a wig or a hat. One day, Talia was introduced to the world of makeup by a friend of Talia's mom, Tammy who is a cancer survivor. Talia's passion and obsession for makeup began.
Unfortunately, Talia lost her hair while battling childhood cancer and makeup became her passion. Talia created the motto “Makeup Is My Wig”. Her makeup tutorials on YouTube, Taliajoy18, continues to inspire millions around the world.

Comment: Paul Burris She was so beautiful... truly. I cant believe that she faced her illness with so much courage and such a positive, optimistic attitude. Talia, I hope there is a heaven and i hope to see you there. I watch your youtube videos with atear in my eyes.. such a beautiful life extinguished far too soon.

#taliaslegacy From TheTruth365: "As our elected leaders in Washington are busy pointing fingers at one another, we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge a true leader...Talia Castellano. In her short time on earth, Talia educated millions of people about childhood cancer. She became famous not because of how she died but because of how she lived. She also inspired an entire generation of young people through social media. Her followers on Instagram, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook number in the millions and her fan base is still growing. We believe that one reason the childhood cancer awareness movement has made so much progress in the past year is that Talia helped pave the way. What are your thoughts on this subject? How do you feel about the future of the childhood cancer awareness movement? Why do you think our Governors and several NFL teams are jumping on the gold band wagon? Are kids finally getting the attention they so desperately need? How do we translate this awareness into funding for research? Please give us your take on these issues. -MG (Special thanks to 11-year-old Bella H. for going gold - literally - and modeling for us at The White House last night. Additional props to make up artist Julie Wardley for painting her gold for our campaign.)"
We'd love to hear what Angels for Talia fans think about this and would love to hear your ideas about how we can continue to raise awareness and translate into funding and research for #childhoodcancer. We know that some of our greatest movements have come from a single idea and we are open to hearing all of yours. Thank you!
Over the summer, the world lost an incredible spirit, and Ellen lost a dear friend. She honored the beautiful Talia in her first show of the season.
From The Ellen DeGeneres Show's website:
Quote of the day: "It was Talia's dream to meet me, but meeting her was a gift I'll never forget." ~ Ellen Degeneres on Talia
It was a another rough day today. Seeing Talia on The Ellen DeGeneres Show brought back so many memories of all she accomplished during her short time with us here. It was so nice of Ellen to end her show with a heartfelt dedication to our Angel. Thank you Ellen, we too miss her so much.
On another note, not too long after Talia earned her wings, we were hit with another unexpected result of losing a child to childhood cancer. It appears that people had been reporting Talia as deceased to Facebook. In doing so Facebook "memorialized" her account not allowing access to backup all the beautiful posts, photos and memories on her page.
Then, today, we also learned that now Instagram has made Talia's account "inactive" actually taking it down altogether. Talia loved her Instagram page and worked hard to gain over 2.6 million followers. It's sad to think that Talia brought so much joy and love to the social media world and now they are just shutting down her pages like she never existed. It's just hard... I guess this is another one of those things that you don't think of when a loved one passes away. Until now we didn't know that only a few weeks or months after someone's passing that their pages can be frozen or shut down.
In the meantime, if anyone knows how we can reach Instagram to try to have her account reactivated long enough to allow for a back up of all of the amazing posts, photos and comment, please share it here with us. We have spent hours trying to reach them through their "help" center with no success. Thank you.
:) We are so very happy and grateful to EVERYONE today as Talia's Instagram is back up! When we saw this the tears started flowing thinking about how strangers can come together for our Angel. Talia loved her fans and for good reason! Millions of people from all over the world continue to support us and want to help us keep our Angel's legacy alive. There are no words to express our appreciation to all of you! She taught me the cup song and wanted to make a video late one night.. We messed up but it was still funny and it brings a smile to my face to watch this. I thought I would share this with you all.
Talia, you were my mentor here on earth and I hope you will continue to mentor me as my beautiful angel in heaven. I miss you and love you more than you will ever truly know.

Photo Albums - Thank you everyone for sending in all the amazing photos of your "little fishes", "mint manis", "bucket list items" and "cancer warriors". We are grateful for the continued support. We are retiring these albums
for the month of September for a very important cause.
As you may or may not know, September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and the ribbon that symbolizes childhood cancer is gold. For the month of September, we will feature only childhood cancer warriors and ask that everyone change their profile picture to that of a gold ribbon or something gold. We are only asking
you to change your profile image for one month to honor Talia's battle, and to honor all the other children currently fighting cancer, those who have lost or won their fight.
As with any cause, awareness brings more funding, more funding brings more research, more research brings better treatments and hopefully one day soon, a cure! Please join us in turning Facebook Gold for one month and let's make this year bigger than any other year. Also, please send in your childhood cancer warrior photos and your childhood cancer awareness profile images so that we can honor you and your childhood cancer warriors for helping support this very important cause. Thank you! See Comments
Only one day past one month since your physical being left this planet, and only one day until the anniversary of the day your physical being came to be on this planet. It's just surreal... The plans are in place, the entertainment and speakers secured, the music has been selected and each video segment created to represent a part of the 13 years you were here with us. We are all picking out our clothes, getting our overdo hair and nail appointments behind us and preparing for our first Birthday without your here. Again, it just doesn't feel real.
Life is interesting after someone you love transitions... all around you, life still moves on. And eventually, it's necessary for us to move on too. It's hard though... God, it's hard. There's this guilt of feeling like there should be more mourning, more "paying respects", more crying and staying home, while the world keeps spinning without you now on it. Friends and family say things like "how are you holding up", "she would have wanted that" or "she's still with you always" and although all the words are out of love, it's still hard to comprehend their meaning. You are missed dearly sweet girl.
Well, tomorrow will be here soon and the frantic pace will pick back up as last minute details will be finalized. Close to 2,000 people have registered and hundreds of thousands, if not millions will hopefully be watching the live feed from all over the world. You said that you wanted to leave your handprints and footprints on this world after you passed, and this event is just the beginning of many more events to come in your honor. We hope that you are looking down and smiling at us as we all try to make this day, what would have been your 14th birthday, as special as you are to all of us. Love you more than all the stars in heaven sweet girl. See Comments

Father of YouTube makeup star Talia Castellano seeks cure for pediatric cancer
Marc Winthrop, here with daughter Talia Castellano, has founded Band of Parents, a volunteer-based organization whose goal is to fun new therapies for Neuroblastoma, the cancer Talia died of in July 2013.
The beauty tutorials have stopped, but for the father of Talia Castellano, the work has just begun.
Marc Winthrop, who lost his 13-year-old daughter to two separate types of cancer last month, has taken his grief at losing Talia and poured it into carrying out her dream of one day finding a cure for pediatric forms of cancer.
Winthrop, who lives in New York with his wife Susan, told the Daily News that one of his biggest goals is to get significant money to scientists conducting cancer research.
"The biggest thing I've done is pulled together parent groups and made very significant grants to Memorial Sloane-Kettering for Neuroblastoma," he said.
The dedicated father is part of a group called Band of Parents, a volunteer-based organization with the goal of funding new therapies for the fairly rare type of cancer. Read more:

Her heartbroken fans have since taken it upon themselves to finish a bucket list she composed before she died. Some of the 72 things on her list included getting a tattoo, covering a car in sticky notes, going to a Justin Bieber concert and creating her own makeup line.
Keeping her memory alive, Mr Winthrop joined a charity called Band of Parents, a member-based organization with the goal of funding new therapies for neuroblastoma - another one of Talia's wishes.
Their mission is to raise funds for research into the deadly disease in the hope that all children can survive and thrive. It is currently the largest private funder of neuroblastoma research at Memorial Sloane-Kettering Cancer Centre. See More Photos
After the passing of our Angel, we have a huge outpouring of support and love. We have also had many opinions about Talia's Legacy and how we are trying to keep her dreams alive. For those of you who fo...llowed Talia prior to her passing, you know how amazing she was. For those of you just now joining us on this journey, we'd love to share a little background about Talia.
At a very early age Talia was already a natural entrepreneur trying to figure out ways to create an empire and spread awareness about childhood cancer. Talia's dream was to help find a cure for this disease and had the incredible insight to pursue this goal using non-convential methods.
After battling this disease herself for so long and living through the physical and emotional stresses of childhood cancer, Talia decided to face it head on and with the support and encouragement of her family, she shared her story with the rest of the world through social media. Her posts and videos were candid, real and honest. She instantly connected with people from all over the world and all ages while she shared her struggles with cancer. Most of all, she also shared herself with the world, and who she really was underneath the cancer.
She continued to live her life like she wanted, making her dreams of becoming an YouTube beauty guru a reality. Instead of focusing on the negative, Talia lit up the internet with her bubbly personality and never-give-up mentality. She constantly thought of others with the disease and wanted so bad to help in any way she could. She was bringing awareness about childhood cancer to the world with an amazing twist, she was doing it through fashion and makeup. We're not 100% sure, but we think that this was the first time anyone had done this.
So now, here we are with a huge shoes to fill and a very important Legacy to keep alive. Here we are with all of Talia's fans and her instructions that need to be fulfilled. Talia was very clear about what she wanted to happen when she was no longer with us here physically, and we intend to do everything we can to make her proud from above. And although it may seem like we are moving quickly on this, we only ever do what she would have wanted.
For Talia's Tribute Event that we are having on August 18th, we are not selling tickets, but are asking for donations to cover the costs and for Talia's favorite charity. If you are able, please click the link and help us make this event everything she would have expected it to be. Thank you so much for your help!
This GiveForward has been set up to help Talia and her family with any additional expenses that may come up from her treatments and travels Talia is an amazing young woman who has been fighting cancer for almost half of her life.

"Talia has been, is and always will be a beautiful shining example of how amazing, generous and inspirational people can be especially in the face of such adversity. She's brought so many different people from all over the world together. And that's not to mention her amazing family and friends. May they long keep her legacy and remind us how to make a difference. You've changed my outlook on life Talia. Thanks little angel xxxxxx"

It's hard to believe that one month ago today your frail, little body finally gave in to the ravaging monster we call childhood cancer. That same little body that fought so valiantly, held one of the largest, most magnificent spirits of our time. A spirit that changed the hearts and minds of all who had the honor of knowing of you. A spirit with the short Earthly experience of only 13 years that had the ability to reach every corner of this globe and connect us in our common emotional bonds as humans. You inspired all you touched with your bright, genuine smile and uncommon strength and perseverance.
It's hard not to wonder if you are looking down form above at us as we "burn the midnight oil" night after night, trying to make your Tribute Event just perfect. We know that if you were here though, you'd say "stop worrying, it doesn't have to be perfect", and that's how you lived your life. Each video and post you shared, you didn't care if there was a hiccup, glitch or spelling error. You didn't take the most precious gift of time to perseverate on the little details. You were just you, pure and simple... And that's why everyone loved you. You made it okay to just be who you really are, and that was more than enough.
One month has been so hard without you, and we have been very busy filling every second with plans for your event. It's hard to imagine how hard it will be once we all have time to settle down, get back to life and have those quite, mindful moments of time where your absence will seem like it fills every space. If and when those unbearable times sneak up on us, please don't let them last long and keep sending us signs and messages reminding us to move forward and continue working on your legacy. Missing you again tonight sweet girl. ♥ ♥ ♥
Today will be a very hard day for family and friends as we say good bye to Talia's physical form. Please send your love, thoughts and prayers to Talia's family and friends left behind. Although the service is private, we will certainly feel all of what you send to us and need every bit. Please, share a moment of silence this morning and send thoughts and prayers of love, strength, courage and healing for broken hearts. Thank you!
Talia Joy Castellano
Born August 18, 1999
Entered into eternal rest July 16, 2013
Talia Joy Castellano was born on August 18, 1999 at Winter Park Hospital to Desiree Castellano. She grew up with her Mother and Sister, Mattia Castellano, in the Orlando area and enjoyed her many friends and her doggie Bella.
Her battle with cancer began when she was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at the age of seven, on February 14, 2007, Valentines Day. In August of 2012, after over five years of chemo, surgeries, treatments and multiple relapses, Talia was diagnosed with a secondary cancer, MDS preleukemia.
Talia was then told that there were no longer any options to fight her now two types cancers. During this past year, she continued treatments knowing there was no cure, but hoping to slow down the progression and prolong her life. At 11:22 am, July 16th, Talia lost her battle to childhood cancer after fighting for six and half years.
Talia wanted “to leave her footprints, and handprints” on this world so she will never be forgotten, and she has definitely done more than that. Talia started doing makeup tutorials on YouTube in 2011 and also used this social media platform to share her life living with cancer. Talia said she always wanted to be remembered “as the bubbly girl who is the voice of childhood cancer”. With one video, Angels on YouTube, she went viral and from there she became the voice for children with cancer everywhere. Talia started wearing makeup at the age of seven, learning from her friend Tammy, and started using makeup to make her feel beautiful when all of her hair had fallen out from the chemo. Talia hated wearing wigs and came up with the saying “Makeup is My Wig”.
In the last two short years Talia’s also became a world-class beauty guru and was featured on The Ellen Show and was made an honorary COVERGIRL. Ellen also asked Talia to be her personal correspondent for the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas where she interviewed starts like Usher, Gwen Stephanie and No Doubt, Mylie Cyrus, Demi Lavato, Miranda Lambert, Ryan Seacrest and Jason Aldine. COVERGIRL had Talia perform two makeup tutorials for the Ellen channel, a day look and night look. She appeared in many magazines including People, Reader’s Digest, J14 and many other social media platforms.
Talia’s love and light brought people together from all over the world, all races, all religions, all genders and all ages. In the short time Talia’s been with us, she inspired people to live their life to the fullest and to love themselves as they are. In Talia’s personal life, she was a typical teenage girl who, loved her friends, dancing, music, fashion, shopping, going to the beach, texting on her phone, watching YouTube, social media and loved reading about the latest celebrity news and gossip.
Talia wanted to achieve so much more and created an amazing bucket list full of items she hoped to check off. Talia’s Sister and Mom vow to make many of her unfulfilled wishes come true. They also vow to keep her memory alive and her message strong. A public tribute in Talia’s honor will be held on August 18th, which would have been her 14th birthday, more details will be announced.
In life, Talia taught us to enjoy every moment. She taught us to be ourselves and that we are all beautiful in one
way or another and to embrace that beauty, fiercely. Through all the pain, and stress Talia knew how to truly love
life and part of her legacy is that we should all do the same, for her and all who have passed too early. Today, turn off the TV, put down the computer or phone and do something fun, different, full of love. Look at the sky, stay up
late, where bright colors, kiss and hug the ones you love, dance in the rain, have a philosophical conversation
with your spouse, give flowers to a stranger... but most of all, love life!
Please enjoy this video of our sweet girl enjoying her time at theiHeartRadio music festival in Vegaslast year with her Mom, Sister and Sandra, that she proclaimed "was the best day and night of her life". This day was when The Ellen DeGeneres Show had Talia represent them as their personal corespondent on the red carpet Where Talia got to interview some her most favorite stars. This video was after that glorious day, where she then got to listen to Lil Wayne blow up the stage. Rock on little Angel, I know the joy and love you felt this night is how you are feeling now above. Love you baby girl and thank you for teaching us to love life like you did!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

Instead, she used make-up as a confidence booster and her upbeat and entertaining video tutorials went on to attract millions of hits.
Desiree Castellano, Talia's mother, who supported her daughter's decision to forgo surgery, told Florida's Blood Centers in 2010: 'She made bald beautiful. She's a gorgeous girl, everyone's telling her, "you look gorgeous without any hair!"'
'She just tries to live every day to the fullest, Talia's a Leo, she's a fighter,' Mrs Castellano added.
Get to know Talia. In this video Talia shares some candid moments, including what she wants to be remembered for. She says she wants to be "remembered as the bubbly girl who wanted to do something about childhood cancer". She also tells the everyone what her "one wish" would be for this world at the very end. This is raw footage of Talia from TheTruth365 interview in 2012. Please watch and share.
Like many people around the world, we are praying for Talia Castellano. She is an amazing advocate for children with cancer who has inspired millions just by being herself. We have read many comments and people are praying for a variety of things..a miracle cure, her comfort, everlasting life...you name it. We are praying for all of these things as well but we have one more...we pray that the millions of people who follow Talia on social media take a stand and become advocates for children with cancer. If we all insist that childhood cancer research be made a priority, then funding levels will increase. This will provide doctors with the tools they need to find cures and more effective treatments.
Talia is very much on our minds so we thought we would share some insightful, interesting and funny outtakes from one of our interviews with Talia from August 2012. The footage is raw but it is a good reminder of who Talia is and what she stands for. -MG See Picture & Comments
This morning the sun was coming through the blinds and shining on Talia's sweet face. Talia's Mom found this beautiful as she couldn't remember the last time she's seen the sun on her daughter's face. Talia's been in the hospital now with only a small break for close to 6 months, and her Mom has been by her side every minute. When you read this post, if you would please take a moment and stop what you are doing, close you eyes and send Talia and her Mom your positive thoughts, love and prayers. Every time we ask you to do this, something amazing happens.
Update: Talia did wake up briefly this morning to drink some water. She had a fever, so she was given Tylenol. Her labs came back showing she needs another platelet transfusion, so she will be having that done later today. See Full Size & Comments
Talia's awake as we post this update. She actually got up out of the bed for a moment to walk a few steps to Tammy who was sitting in the chair next to her bed. She then laid on Tammy for about 20 minutes before she wanted to get up again. She then stood up again and started to walk back to the bed. Her Mom went immediately to help her and she said "Mom, I got it!" and then climbed back up on the bed by herself, turning around and sitting cross legged. She then asked to brush her teeth and is now drinking and watching TV. We are so thankful for these moments that we get to spend with her. Please keep the thoughts and prayers coming.
Talia is has been up, talking and drinking again today. She has been given a new air mattress for her comfort. As we post this update, she is having a blood and platelet transfusion. Thank you for your continued support, love and prayers.
Talia has this amazing ability to bring people together. From all over the world, every race, gender and age has come together for a common goal... to send love, support and prayers to our angel. She has also brought many others together, creating long-lasting, genuine friendships that we will always be grateful for. In this photo, two of those friends have been brought together while supporting Talia. Lea, a makeup artist, and Urbana, a clothing designer, have been a huge support to Talia and her family. They have given hours of their time to sit by Talia, Mattia and Desiree's side, night and day, and offer their help whenever needed. Thank you Lea and Urbana! We love you both dearly!
Update 7-8-13: Talia slept most of the night. She woke up this morning to use the restroom and stretch and is now sleeping again. Talia has been blessed to have such a loving Mom and family. Her Mom, Desiree, never leaves her side and is there to hear every breath her little angel takes. When you send your love and prayers to Talia, please remember to send strength and love to Desiree too. Thank you! #prayfortalia
Update 6-29-13: Talia had a blood transfusion on Thursday night from a direct donor. Thank you Robert Degaine for donating red blood cells to Talia. Last night Talia got sick, but then she felt better and had some friends over. Talia put on her makeup and enjoyed their visit. In this picture, Talia gets a visit from her sweet Bella doggie.
Update 7-7-13: Talia wakes up for a little while... :) (4 photos) #paryfortalia

Talia spent her last full day in Florida spending time at the beach with friends and family. Though she seemed excited with the idea of me visiting to take photos, I must admit it took a couple hours before she opened up to me but I don’t blame her — in just a day she’ll be moving away. Finally her and her puppy Bella came to see me to have their photo taken.

Talia was bald for almost half of her life
Posted:5-8-14
#TBT#ThrowbackThursday Talia was bald for almost half of her life, as she was diagnosed with cancer at age seven. She fought it on and off for the rest of her life, over six and half years, never really able to grow long hair.
Although she learned to rock her bald head and make bald beautiful, she loved playing with wigs and imagining what it would be like to have long, luscious locks. She could make anything look good though. Love you sweet girl! (7 Photos)

"A couple of weeks ago, new scans revealed that her cancer has spread throughout her bones and it is giving her a lot of pain. She has been on IV pain medication to help. While Talia is now out of treatment options, she is still living her life and wants to make sure that she leaves her “footprints and fingerprints” on the world."
Update 7-14-13: #prayfortalia**SHARE AND SIGN** We will have an update soon, but we wanted to share this very important link. If you want to help fight childhood cancer, please take a few minutes to share this post, then click the link and sign the ...petition. TheTruth365 has created this "Petition for Increased Federal Funding for Childhood Cancer Research". If we get enough signatures, we may be able to make a big difference in the world of childhood cancer and children like Talia would have better treatments to fight this monster. Thank you for your help!
Petition Background (Preamble)
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children in the United States. Cancer kills more than 2,500 children every year and over 13,500 kids will be diagnosed with cancer in the next 365 days. Though these numbers are significant, the potential market is too small to attract the attention of private industry. This makes the role of the taxpayer-funded National Cancer Institute (NCI) especially critical. However, only a small percentage of its budget is dedicated to childhood cancer research. The result is that children are dying every day waiting for promising new treatments. As a society, we have an obligation to protect our most vulnerable citizens, the thousands of children who are fighting life-threatening cancer.

First and foremost, our goal for Talia's legacy is to help find a cure for the monster that took her away from us too soon. Talia amassed a huge following on her social media platforms and left her fans in our hands with instructions on how she wants "to leave her handprints and footprints on this world". She also said that, "she wants to be known as the bubbly girl who is the voice for childhood cancer" and we intend to continue that voice.
Please, if you have not done so already, share this post, click the link below and "like" the TheTruth365 Facebook page. Also, please visit this link http://www.thetruth365.org/petition
and sign the petition to help request that our government recognize that we need to, at the very least, increase funding for research so children like Talia have better, updated treatments available and may live longer lives. Thank you for your help and continued support.
